    The story of Noah

Noah lived during a period when the Bible describes the earth as being filled with violence and corruption, so much so that God decided to bring a great flood to cleanse the world. Amidst this widespread wickedness, Noah was distinguished as a righteous man who walked faithfully with God. Because of his integrity, God chose him and his family to survive the coming judgment and to preserve animal life through the building of a massive ark.

The construction of the ark was a monumental task that required years of labor and steadfast faith, especially as Noah faced the likely ridicule of his neighbors during a time of no apparent danger. When the floods finally came, Noah, his wife, their three sons, and their sons' wives entered the ark along with pairs of every living creature. For many months, they remained safe inside the vessel while the waters covered the highest mountains and transformed the face of the earth.

After the waters receded and the ark rested on Mount Ararat, Noah emerged to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to God. In response, God established a covenant with Noah and all living creatures, promising never again to destroy the earth with a flood. The rainbow was given as the visible sign of this enduring promise. Noah's story serves as a powerful reminder of God's justice against sin and His merciful provision for those who remain faithful to Him.
